ADI Lazio

ADI Lazio is the territorial delegation of ADI in the Lazio region. It was founded in 2004 as ADI Centro and became ADI Lazio in 2009.

ADI, the Association for Industrial Design in Italy, was founded in 1956 and has brought together a wide range of professionals in the promotion of design including enterprises, designers, publishers, researchers, academics, critics, and journalists. It has also sought to foster recognition of the social, economic, and cultural significance of design and to act as a persuasive intermediary between the worlds of design and business.

Since 1962 ADI has also managed the prestigious Compasso d'Oro design award (the most important industrial design award in Italy).

The territorial delegations of ADI
are autonomous associations with associates from one or more regions, the associates takes part in the national ADI activities as well as in the delegation of his/her region.

ADI's activities devolve around four major departments: designers, production enterprises, distribution enterprises and general affairs.  There are also focus groups that centre on design for disability and computing for design. The organization is represented on the Consiglio Nazionale dell'Economia e dei Lavoro CNEL (the National Economic and Labour Council).

ADI was a founding member of ICSID (the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design), of BEDA (Bureau of European Design Associations), and is a member of ICOGRADA (the International Council of Graphic Design Associations).
